7 most common mistakes when using Losevi Light / Lossew Lamp

Owning this tool alone is not enough — it must also be used correctly. Incorrect methods can result in both missed defects and unnecessary over-processing of areas that do not actually require correction.

1. Holding the light too far from the wall

The main rule is: Losevi Light / Lossew Lamp must be as close as possible to the inspected surface, just a few centimeters away.

The lamp body should fully touch the wall.

2. Pointing the light toward the wall

The light must move not toward the wall, but along it, parallel to the surface, grazing it correctly.

The working principle of Losevi Light / Lossew Lamp is a strong light source directed exactly parallel to the wall surface, which spreads across it and reveals all pits, depressions, the shadows they create, and any type of defect.

3. Inspecting in only one direction

Start inspection with slow vertical movement from bottom to top, then from top to bottom, ensuring the entire wall is properly covered.

Then repeat the same horizontally, from left to right and back.

This is necessary to detect defects in different orientations. For example, vertical scratches are much more visible under horizontal light, and vice versa.

4. Skipping corners and difficult areas

Internal and external corners are the most difficult areas to inspect.

Pay special attention to wall-to-ceiling joints, areas around sockets and switches, and all hard-to-reach sections.

Ceiling inspection is the most difficult, so it is recommended to mount the light on a telescopic pole or tripod to keep both hands free.

5. Incorrect evaluation of defects

Losevi Light / Lossew Lamp is a very sensitive tool. At the beginning, it may reveal so many defects that it can confuse the worker.

It is important to learn how to properly filter the information.

Critical defects include:

• holes;

• bumps;

• drips and runs;

• deep scratches.

Minor defects include:

• dust;

• small fibers;

• minimal texture marks.

6. Excessive perfectionism

The most common mistake is excessive perfectionism.

Losevi Light / Lossew Lamp reveals almost everything — even the smallest dust particles or fibers left from a roller during priming.

Beginner workers often try to remove these insignificant marks completely, endlessly sanding and reapplying filler as if preparing polished glass.

It is essential to develop evaluation criteria and distinguish between critical and minor defects.

Small fibers and minimal texture marks will be fully covered by paint, especially matte paint, so there is no need for unnecessary concern.

If the wall is prepared for thick wallpaper, such detailed inspection is not necessary at all.

7. Inspecting under daylight conditions

Another common mistake is inspecting the surface under strong lighting or daylight conditions.

Daylight or strong ceiling lighting significantly reduces the effect of the narrow beam of Losevi Light / Lossew Lamp. The contrast between shadows disappears and defects become almost invisible.

For proper inspection, it is recommended to darken the room as much as possible.

Ideal conditions are complete darkness, but even dim lighting is sufficient.

Close curtains or inspect in the evening when all other light sources are turned off.

Only under such conditions can grazing light fully reveal the surface relief.

It is enough to cover windows with black plastic using tape to create proper darkness.
